Should you be connected to the mesh, have no Internet connectivity, and find you would like to install a package on your node, there is now a local AREDN package server on the CVADN mesh. It is a clone of the AREDN-hosted server. It will be updated when new firmware versions are released.
To use the local server instead of the AREDN-hosted server, go to your node’s “Advanced Configuration” page and for the settings that begin with “aredn.@downloads.” replace all occurences of “downloads.arednmesh.org” with “w4uva-ohill-183.local.mesh:8280/aredndl”, clicking “Save Setting” for each one.
There is a bug in the current AREDN version: there is one package server configuration missing. To complete the setup, SSH into your node and edit the file “/etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf”, doing the same replacement as above for the “Freifunk” feed.
Now your “Refresh” and “Download” buttons on the “Administration” page should work as if your node was online.
